I promised to write something about Chihayafuru episode 9 two days ago but i really couldn’t choose the exact time/moment from the episode to cap so here goes a reblog. lmao

This was really an awesome episode though. The last 5 minutes or so was exceptionally good that i was so moved. I could name a couple of anime that has made me cry but the way Chihayafuru does it is just…different. I think the reason why i love this episode is because there was no foreshadowing of what would eventually happen at the end of it. It’s not even about tear-jerking dramatic moments or unpredictability. I think it’s ability to pull you in and be heartbroken or be happy along with the characters is what makes this show so damn good.

If you haven’t watched this yet, try it. It’s basically about a game called ‘Karuta’ and Chihaya’s dream of becoming the best player in Japan. While i’m not sure if they will develop the romance part in this anime, i’m not really bothered by it because i actually enjoy watching them play karuta and the chacter development from this show.
